I am a qualified Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a background in education.  I have 15 years’ experience as a teacher where I have worked with children aged 5 to 12. I have experience using Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with adults, young people and children working in both primary and secondary schools and within my private practice.

I have the ability to build positive relationships with people of all ages based on trust and understanding.  I work collaboratively with individuals to determine the factors which are maintaining the difficulties they are experiencing.  I believe it is important for individuals to have an understanding of the rationale behind treatment which I allow for within my sessions. I work creatively and can adapt treatment to ensure that techniques are meaningful to all individuals.

I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work according to their ethical frameworks.  I am committed to Continued Professional Development and I attend courses and workshops relevant to my client work and interests.   I undertake regular supervision sessions, I am fully insured, hold a current PVG certificate and I am registered with Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
